Good morning to everyone.

For those who have been following along this year with my weekly stories on each of the Yankees’ World Series championships, a project entitled The Legacy of 27, today would have been 1977, but since I will be getting to that later this year at the end of Battling Bronx Bombers - which is the story of the 1977 season - I’m skipping ahead today in Legacy of 27 to the 1978 championship, one of the most amazing journeys to a title the Yankees have ever encountered. That just published a few minutes ago over at my new site at Mighty Networks called The Ballpark, so those of you who have already created your FREE account, please enjoy.

For those who have NOT come over to join the community I am trying to build, please do so. Honestly, I’ve been a bit surprised by how few of you have already done so because it’s a quick and painless process. If I could do it for you myself I would, but you have to create your own account with a password, which literally takes perhaps a minute.

As I’ve continually said, the main Pinstripe People newsletter - the twice per week series recaps - will continue to be published right here so nothing changes with that, though it will also be available at the new site. If that’s all you want to receive, OK. But you’ll miss out on a lot of good Yankees content because everything else I produce - Pinstripe Past, Battling Bronx Bombers, Box Score Briefs, and whatever other goodies I come up with down the road - soon will only be published in The Ballpark at Mighty Networks.

As a reminder, all of those stories will still arrive in your inbox just as they have been so you won’t miss anything. But when you click to read, you get sent into The Ballpark which is the sharp looking website that I’ve designed. When you’re done reading that day’s story you can explore other things on the site, you can comment directly on every story, you can start a chat with me, watch the highlight videos right in the stories without getting kicked to a different page, and to top it off, by downloading the free Mighty Networks app from the Apple or Android app stores, you can do all of this from your phone or tablet.

Today would be a good day to do this because the Yankees are playing the Guardians at 1:10 and I’m going to conduct a live in-game chat in The Ballpark. I’ll be watching the game and discussing all things Yankees with you. For those of you who follow me on X, you know I occasionally do this there, but in The Ballpark, it will include only those of us in the community and it’s more direct and personal and hopefully friendlier.
